next day

We are now over halfway done!

The fifth day of riding took us from Little Falls, through
Freedhem (population 35), and to Crosby, a total of 61
miles.Though it was raining when we woke up, we held off
starting for another hour, and by that time the rain had cleared
up.

An interesting phenomenon occurred today - the riders spread out over a vast distance, over an hour apart. In the future we plan to try to keep a bit closer together. The late start, extended lunch break and the distance between riders caused some of the riders to have to be transported to the site of the show before they were finished with the days miles. We ate supper in Crosby and performed a show. Then we set up tents in the Crosby Memorial State Park.

YOU KNOW YOU'RE HAVING A BAD DAY WHEN....

1. thunder awakens you

2. you get a flat tire (like Colin)

3. your air seat gets flat and you have to pump it up every mile
(like Peter)

4. you ask for aspercreme but are given FlexAll to relieve
saddle soreness (like Connie)

5. your legs look like frog spawn from the bug bites (like
Sven's and Michael's)

6. the ice pack you were sitting on while riding explodes on your seat (like Colin's)

7. you have to choose between the lesser of two evils - five
miles of gravel or an additional four miles to detour it

8. you get lost all by yourself (like Ryan)

9. you arrive last to the meal and find that everybody already
had seconds and there is nothing left for you (like Connie,
Sven, Tammy, Neil, Jenni and Andy)

10. the support vehicle runs over your unicycle (like Connie's)

Connie and crew amused themselves by telling stories and riddles - her challenge to you is to figure out a third item which fits the pattern. Here is the riddle:

What three things would you bring on a unicycle trip?

1. utter butter and flypaper

2. WD40 and tape

3. ??  (Find the pattern and submit your answer in the guestbook.)
