Fourth day on the road!

You know you've been unicycling a lot when 42 miles is a SHORT day. Today, the unicyclists traveled from St. Cloud to Little Falls, hitting Rice and Vawter in between. The the RV on the horizon is a welcome sight for the riders! Our group breaks with the RV are usually every 10 to 15 miles, supplying water, power gel, granola bars, hard boiled eggs, apples, fruit snacks and more. The Little Falls Chamber of Commerce provided our meal that evening. Then, we put on our fourth performance. We would like to thank the city of Little Falls, the families who housed unicyclists for the night, and the AmericInn. Over the days, we have bonded and now we're like one big family. We share water, food, sunscreen, chapstick, butter, etc., and think nothing of it. QUOTES OF THE DAY! "The whole point of feeling better is hurting." - Brian Hansen "I don't think I've ever been this tan in my life!" - Tanya Marsh "If somebody asks me what riding across
Minnesota was like, I'm gonig to say it's like being punched in the
crotch for eight hours every day." - Eric Rouse "I feel like I could ride a billion miles right now." - Jamey Mossengren, experiencing an energy surge in the hot tub MOMENTS TO REMEMBER: ~Crossing the Mississippi River twice! ~Roger Davies' 18.3 mile-per-hour wipe out after flying down a hill and hitting a bump on a Coker with 110 mm cranks. And the amazing thing is that he was more concerned about the blood stains on his T-shirt than the major road rash on his arm, knee, and hip! ~Getting rained on while deciding whether to pitch tents or wimp out and get a hotel. ~Up until today, the only person to go to the hospital was a member of our support staff who fell coming out of the RV. This evening, however, Michael Kempf was hospitalized for dehydration and heat stroke. Luckily he rejoined the group later that night in one piece! ~The Ryder truck (storing all the luggage and extra unis) running out of gas in the middle of the road. TOP FIVE WAYS TO RELIEVE SORE MUSCLES: 1. Jacuzzi all the way! 2. Back-rubs and foot massages :) 3. Pain-killers, aspercream, butter, IcyHot, etc. 4. Cold packs or frozen peas 5. Stretching
Thanks to all those out there who are reading this! We may not have access to a phone line over the next few days, so please be patient with the updates. Thanks! After tomorrow's ride, we will be over halfway there. |
